Pink Floyd

in my opinion Pink Floyd is collectively a few of the greatest musicians of all time. The band consist of Richard William Wright,David Jon Gilmour,George Roger Waters,George Roger Waters.I am going to provide you with a short biography about the members of the band and how they one day became legends throughout the world. The band consist of David Jon Gilmour who was given a spanish guitar by one of his neighbors and from there the rest would be history. When Dave was a young teenager, his father's profession drew him overseas, to the U.S., leaving Dave to independently fend for himself. playing U.S. military bases with Jokers Wild, and working odd jobs, including his famous stint as a male model. All of this helped to instill in Dave, his underlying grit and a single-minded determination to succeed on his own terms...that was to resurface during the Floydian 'wars' much later. and it was to carry him through in the future, to the ringing of a Division Bell and beyond. For Rick as a young man, he was at a loss for a career to pursue at the prep school he attended, until someone suggested architecture. The Regent Street Poly is where he met Nick and Roger. Rick didn't want to be an architect however, he wanted to be a musician... the rest is history. Rick came back to life, so to speak, with TDB... he co-wrote WTIO with Anthony Moore, and co-wrote Cluster One, WDYWFM, Marooned and KT with Dave. Roger had a normal childhood and loving parents. He was a popular and successful student, and his passions ranged from camping and sports to drama and painting. He was once a Boy Scout patrol leader.Dr. Barrett encouraged Syd's musical interest with the gift of a banjo, and later, a guitar. Dr. Barrett died when Syd was just 14. It's been proposed that this trauma was the first 'catalyst' in Syd's eventual dementia.Syd and Dave were friends at a very early age, and while attending school, they would hang out together, teaching each other guitar....Dave was the better guitarist, and Syd's talent lay in words and lyrics...they would flow from him easily, according to Dave. The founding member of the band that so many today admire and respect, today lives in seclusion and in ill health....a once brilliant mind destroyed by drugs. Syd is a legacy and a lesson for all. All coming from the United Kingdom they have managed to become one of the worlds most heard of bands an more importantly one of my favorites. To see how they struggled with there lives and they took the risk and it wound up paying off. I say this due to the fact that i do not think you can walk up to someone in the street and they would not know who Pink Floyd is.

depeche mode

Composition of Sound was formed in 1980 in Basildon, Essex, by guitarist/vocalists Andy Fletcher and Martin Gore and keyboardist Vince Clarke. After recruiting David Gahan, the group abandoned their guitars for synthesizers, changed the band's name, and became an all-electronic band entitled Depeche Mode. For this unusual approach, Depeche Mode earned a loyal London following, and within a year of their formation, were signed to Mute Records. Depeche Mode's first single "Dreaming of Me" was a minor U.K. hit. It was followed by "New Life", which climbed to No.11, and by "Just Can't Get Enough", which cracked the British Top Ten. Speak & Spell, Depeche Mode's debut album, was released in November of 1981.

Signed to Sire Records in the U.S., Depeche Mode found initial exposure for their music with club audiences. "Just Can't Get Enough" became a major dance hit, receiving airplay on American alternative radio stations. After a tour of England and Europe, Vince Clark left Depeche Mode to form Yazoo. Alan Wilder then joined the band as the group released its fourth single "The Meaning of Love". A second hit album titled "A Broken Frame" was then released in 1982. In 1983, Depeche Mode released "Construction Time Again", which contained the dance favorite "Everything Counts".

Although depeche mode is way before my time, i must say they are on my favorite bands to listen to. They started a whole new era of music and now every club you go to you will hear at least 5 songs by this artist and not even know its them.

ENDWELL

Even though they’re just now hitting America and the world with their debut album, Homeland Insecurity, the five members of the Queens, NY band Endwell are true survivors in every sense of the word. In October, 2005, after touring the country on their own a couple of times and releasing their own EP, the boys piled into their van for a trek to Chicago, where they would showcase their talents in front of Victory Records owner Tony Brummel.

The first single is “Single & Loving It.” “I started jamming off one riff, showed it to everyone, and we worked on it further,” he says. “It developed into this powerful, energetic song.” The video, directed by Shane Drake (who won the VMA’s Video of the Year Award for directing Panic! At the Disco’s “I Write Sins, Not Tragedies”) was shot against the gothic skyscrapers of New York, promises to be as visually compelling as the song sounds.

This band means a lot to me due to the fact that my friend is a rock star and he is in this band,
I almost passed out when i heard that he was in the band. i don't think i have ever been happier for anyone in my life. They are touring all of Europe next year and for one day i wish i can be in his shoes.

a day to remember

It would be almost too easy and obvious to describe A Day To Remember as the creators of one of the unforgettable rock albums of 2007, but that wouldn’t make it any less true. Hailing from Scala, Florida, the five members of A Day To Remember have crafted a unique blend of what can best be called “pop-hardcore”—a potent combination of ultra-high energy and tart-sweet melodies. You can hear the melodic chaos in its full glory on For Those Who Have Heart, their debut album on Victory Records.

A Day To Remember aren’t exactly the new kids in the pit. All of the band members had played in the Ocala music scene for years until 2003, when the band in its current incarnation came together. Singer Jeremy McKinnon, guitarists Neil Westfall and Tom Denney, bassist Joshua Woodard and drummer Alex Shellnutt knew they had something special during one specific performance on a special day. “Two years ago we played a Fourth of July show in our home town,” Joshua recalls.

A Day To Remember is a band that i have listened to for years they are amazing. They are the greatest influence to me and my friends to start a band. This band is living proof that if you set your mind to something you will be able to do it.

An argument brought up by many about kurts suicide

This is one thing where I can get into hours upon hours of conversation. The alleged suicide note was written in different handwriting then Kurt's that is just one point of many that i am going to bring up on why i strongly disagree with his quote on quote suicide. His heroin stash was emptied and all his credit cards and cash were stolen, I don't know about you but that sounds a bit suspicious.
The next point and the strongest point is that fact that it would of been impossible for him to shoot the shotgun without taking of his shoes. I say with his toes because thats what the police report said. Another valid point is that he was found with his shoes on so obviously there was another person present. The homicide detective until this day are looking to re-open this case because there is to much evidence showing that it was clearly not a suicide.

complete coverage on Kurt Cobains suicide

I am one of the biggest nirvana fans ever, and i totally disagree with him allegedly killing himself. i will get into that in my next blog

To Boddah,
Speaking from the tongue of an experienced simpleton who obviously would rather be an emasculated, infantile complained. This note should be pretty easy to understand. All the warnings from the Punk Rock 101 Courses over the years, it's my first introduction to the, shall we say ethics involved with independence and the embracement of your community has been proven to be very true. I haven't felt the excitement of listening to, as well as creating music, along with really writing something for too many years now. I feel guilty beyond words about these things, for example when we're backstage and the lights go out and the manic roar of the crowd begins. It doesn't affect me in the way which it did for say Freddie Mercury, who seemed to love and relish the love and admiration from the crowd, which is something I totally admire and envy. The fact is, I can't fool you, any of you. It simply isn't fair to you, or to me. The worst crime can think of would be to pull people off by faking it, pretending as if I'm ha ving one 100% fun. Sometimes I feel as though I should have a punch-in time clock before I walk out on-stage. I've tried everything within my power to appreciate it, and I do, God believe me, I do, but it's not enough. I appreciate the fact that I, and we, have affected, and entertained a lot of people. I must be one of the narcisists who only appreciate things when they're alone. I'm too sensitive, I need to be slightly numb in order to regain the enthusiasm. But, what's sad is our child. On our last three tours, I've had a much betterappreciation of all the people I've known personally, and as fans of our music. But I still can't get out the frustration, the guilt, and the sympathy I have for everybody. There is good in all of us, and I simply love people too much. So much that it makes me feel too fucking sad. The sad little sensitive unappreciative pisces Jesus man! why don't you just enjoy it? I dont know! I have a of a wife who sweats ambition and empathy, and a daughter who reminds me to much of what I use to be, full of love and joy, every person she meets because everyone is good and will do her no harm, and that terrifies me to the point to
where I can barely function. I cant stand the thought of Frances becoming the miserable self destructive, deathrocker I become. I have it good, very good, and I'm grateful, but since the age of seven, I've become hateful towards all humans in general. Only because it seems so easy for people to get along and have empathy, EMPATHY. Only because I love and feel for people too much I guess. Thank you from the pit of my burning nauseas stomach for your letters and concern during the last years. I'm too much of a neurotic moody person and I don't have the passion anymore, so remember, it's better to burnout, than fade away. Peace, love, empathy, Kurt Cobain.
